The Aviation Unit of the Danish Accident Investigation Board (AIB) was notified of the accident by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) on 8-1-2025 at 02:45 hours (hrs).
The AIB accredited a non-travelling representative to the ATSB safety investigation.
During the water take-off, the aircraft was observed to become airborne and then impacted the water.
The pilot and two passengers (including a Danish citizen) were fatally injured, and three passengers sustained serious injuries.
The accident occurred in daylight and under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC).
